The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (aka AFCON 2021 or CAN 2021) will be the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament will be hosted by Cameroon. The tournament will take place between 9 January and 6 February 2021. 24 teams, in 6 groups, will participate in 6 different venues. After the group stage, the two best teams and four third-best teams from each group will progress to the knockout phases. Algeria are the defending champions after winning in 2019.
